This visit embodies the deep historical ties that unite the Algerian and Palestinian peoples, reaffirming that the Palestinian cause remains deeply rooted in Algerian memory and national consciousness.
The visit began with a tour of the museum’s halls, where the museum's administration provided a comprehensive explanation to the visiting delegation about Algeria’s glorious history — from the early 19th-century popular resistance against French occupation, through the political and cultural national movement, and culminating in the glorious liberation revolution that erupted in 1954. That revolution resonated around the world as one of the most prominent struggles for national liberation in the 20th century.
The Palestinian minister and his delegation were visibly moved by the vivid details, rare photographs, documents, and testimonies showcasing the bravery of Algerians in wresting their freedom from over 132 years of brutal colonialism.
The visit was not merely a pause before exhibits, but a direct encounter with the spirit of Algerian resistance — a renewal of the vow that the struggle for dignity knows no borders and is a shared endeavor among all the free people of the world.
In remarks made on the sidelines of the visit, Minister Ahmed Abu Houli stated:
“Algeria has always been a warm haven for the Palestinian cause. It has proven throughout its long history to be a nation of steadfast principles — not merely a supporter in words, but in blood, actions, and unwavering stances.”
He added:
“What we witnessed today in this venerable museum is a living message to every Palestinian: the path to freedom is only paved with patience and sacrifices. The Algerian spirit that emanates from here is capable of lighting the way in our Palestinian struggle.”
The Palestinian ambassador, for his part, expressed his deep gratitude to Algeria — its people and institutions — for their continued embrace of the Palestinian cause. He emphasized that the visit to the National Mujahid Museum was not just a protocol activity, but “a journey into the core of Algeria’s liberation identity, which has inspired many resistance movements across the world, foremost among them the Palestinian resistance.”
The visit concluded with the Palestinian minister signing the museum’s Golden Book, where he wrote heartfelt words expressing his admiration for the Algerian people’s struggle and deep appreciation for this institution that preserves national memory and embodies values of loyalty and sacrifice.
A symbolic gift was also presented by the museum administration as a token of appreciation and recognition of the special place Palestine holds in the hearts of Algerians.
This was not just an official visit... it was an emotional milestone that affirms Algeria never forgets Palestine, and Palestine has never forgotten that Algeria was — and remains — the land of the free and a sanctuary of struggle.
