Sheikh Muhammad Maâmoun Al-Qasimi Al-Hassani, Dean of the Algiers Grand Mosque, praised the deep fraternal ties between the Algerian and Palestinian peoples. He recalled the slogan that reflects this historical solidarity: "Algeria is with Palestine, in prosperity and adversity." He emphasized that this relationship stems from the Algerian nation's conscience and its ethical and humanitarian commitment to the Palestinian cause.

This statement was made during his reception of Palestinian Minister Ahmad Abu Holi, Chairman of the Higher National Committee for Commemorating the Nakba and a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, on Monday. The Palestinian delegation visited the Algiers Grand Mosque to explore its facilities and understand its religious and civilizational message.

In his remarks, Al-Qasimi held Western policies based on double standards responsible for the ongoing tragedy of the Palestinian people. He affirmed that this duplicity has hindered dialogue between civilizations and allowed crimes against a people displaced for more than seven decades to continue. He added that he conveys this message in official forums in defense of justice and human dignity.

Al-Qasimi also recalled Algerian youth writings from the period following the 1948 Nakba, reflecting an early awareness of the importance of solidarity with Palestine. He reminded attendees of the fundraising campaigns launched at that time to support the Palestinian people's struggle.

He commended Algeria's consistent positions, stating, "Algeria's voice has remained clear, firm, and loyal to the rights of the Palestinian people and their just cause across decades in international forums."

In conclusion, Al-Qasimi prayed for victory and relief for the people of Palestine, citing the transformation of the Algiers Grand Mosque from a French colonial project into an Islamic beacon named after the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), thanks to the unity of the Algerian people and their adherence to their Islamic identity.

For his part, Palestinian Minister Ahmad Abu Holi appreciated Algeria's supportive positions toward Palestine, stating, "We turn to Algeria when we need steadfastness, support, and assistance. The enemy is one, and our compass all points toward the noble Jerusalem.
