Abu Holi: We Will Continue Launching Educational and Academic Support Programs for Palestinian Students in Refugee Camps to Safeguard Their Right to Education

The Department of Refugee Affairs of the Palestine Liberation Organization concluded the educational course designated for preparatory and secondary school certificate students in Yarmouk Camp, which was implemented under the directives of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, in cooperation with the Embassy of the State of Palestine and the factions of the Palestine Liberation Organization in Syria, within the framework of national efforts aimed at supporting Palestinian students and strengthening their educational resilience amid difficult living conditions.
Dr. Ahmad Abu Holi, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Central Committee of Fatah, and Head of the Department of Refugee Affairs, affirmed that the educational courses implemented by the Department embody the commitment of the Palestine Liberation Organization to stand by our people in refugee camps and its constant dedication to safeguarding their right to education and providing all the means necessary for their success and excellence.
He pointed out that the educational course included intensive and comprehensive reviews of the core subjects, delivered by a distinguished group of specialized teachers, with the aim of enhancing the students’ academic achievement and strengthening their confidence in their abilities. He also extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Syria, Dr. Samir Al-Rifai, commending the extensive support and facilities he provided to ensure the success of this course.
Abu Holi said: “Our students represent Palestine’s promising potential and carry its national and humanitarian message. We hope that their efforts will lead to success and excellence worthy of their determination and ambition. We are confident that determination and knowledge will remain the strongest weapon of our people in confronting challenges and restoring the legitimate Palestinian rights to return, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign state with occupied Jerusalem as its capital.”
He added that the Department of Refugee Affairs will continue launching educational and academic programs and initiatives supporting Palestinian students in places of refuge, contributing to easing the burdens on their families and opening broader horizons for them toward excellence and achievement.
At the conclusion of the course, certificates of completion were distributed to the participating students in recognition of their commitment and dedication throughout the duration of the educational program.
For their part, the participating students expressed their appreciation for this educational initiative, affirming that the course constituted important academic and moral support for them and contributed to enhancing their readiness for the final examinations. They also expressed their gratitude to President Mahmoud Abbas, to the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Syria, Dr. Samir Al-Rifai, and to the Department of Refugee Affairs and its Head, Dr. Ahmad Abu Holi, for their continued attention to the Palestinian camp communities.
